Meet Susie

Helping women make informed decisions about brain health and aging, one question at a time.

My Story

When I moved to Colorado, I embraced an active lifestyle and assumed that being active meant I was healthy. Looking back, a bowl of low-fat, sugary cereal for dinner probably wasn't the healthiest choice. It took years of reading and researching before I saw the bigger picture.

By nature I’m a curious person, and I've always been the kind of person who asks questions and reads scientific studies to better understand the topics that interest me. When my children were young, I started a non-toxic living blog because I began questioning the chemicals used to make the products that we use every day. That work gave me the chance to connect the dots between scientific research, the ingredients in everyday products, and the choices we make to support our health.

It wasn’t until I entered perimenopause that I was blindsided by some test results. I was already living what I thought was a healthy lifestyle, yet I was suddenly facing prediabetes, weight gain, and poor sleep. That made me ask more questions. In the back of my mind, I couldn't ignore the fact that both of my grandmothers had dementia. If I don't change course, where am I headed? Especially considering that dementia starts up to 20 years before symptoms first appear.

“If I don’t change course, where am I headed?”

Again, I went down the rabbit hole of research. The deeper I dug into brain health and healthy aging, the more I realized how much we can do to influence our future health. That curiosity eventually led me to become a Certified Senior Advisor and Brain Health Fitness Coach, and I'm currently taking a year-long Brain Health Food course.

Today, I combine my background in biology, my master's degree, my certifications in brain health and senior advising, and a lifelong love of research to help women make informed decisions about aging well.

If you're asking the same questions I’ve been asking, I'm so glad you're here. I hope what I learn helps you build a healthier future with confidence.
